So you have to ask yourself: 

Do you think human creativity matters? 

Well, hmm. 

Most people don't spend a lot of time thinking about poetry. Right? 

They have a life to live, 

and they're not really that concerned with Allen Ginsberg's poems or anybody's poems, 

until their father dies, 

they go to a funeral, 

you lose a child, 

somebody breaks your heart, they don't love you anymore, 

and all of a sudden, 

you're desperate for making sense out of this life, 

and, "Has anybody ever felt this bad before? 

How did they come out of this cloud?"

스스로에게 반문해 보아야 합니다. 

인간의 창의성이 중요하다고 생각하나요? 

글쎄요. 

대부분의 사람들은 시에 대해 생각하는데 많은 시간을 보내지 않습니다. 그렇죠? 

우리는 살아갈 삶이 있고 

앨런 긴스버그의 시나 누구의 시에도 별로 관심이 없습니다. 

아버지가 돌아가실 때까지 

장례식장에 갈 때까지 여러분이 아이를 잃고 

누군가 마음에 상처를 주고 더 이상 사랑받지 못할 때까지 말이죠. 

그러다 갑자기 간절히 삶을 이해하고 싶어 하죠. 

"이렇게 안 좋은 경험을 해보신 분 계신가요? 

이런 먹구름 같은 상황을 어떻게 헤져 나왔죠?"
